Artist Statement

Ankh is highly regarded muralist who has been making a name for himself in Montreal’s vibrant art scene for over 15 years. His extensive experience has allowed him to develop a unique style that blends graphic, figurative and nature elements into his murals.

Ankh approaches his work like a compositor, mixing different sources of imagery to create complex and intricate compositions. His body of work is centered around the theme of the "Secret Garden," which allows him to express profound emotions and ideas that resonate with audiences from all walks of life.

Ankh's colorful and dynamic compositions breathe life into the urban landscape, and his attention to detail is evident in all of his projects. His commitment for painting has earned him widespread recognition in Canada, and his ultimate goal is to achieve international acclaim for his art.

Bio

Ankh's artistic journey began in the early 90s when he first started doing graffiti on the walls of his hometown of Grenoble, situated at the base of the majestic Alps. His passion for this mode of expression led him to study graphic design, where he honed his skills in painting and illustration, all the while staying true to the graffiti culture that inspired him.

Ankh's work is a testament to his versatility as an artist, as he seamlessly blends various mediums such as painting, graphic design, and illustration to create what he calls "poetry in motion." In 2001, Ankh joined Parisian collective, 9e Concept, and later worked as a freelancer. He also served as an art director for Graff-It magazine,  Ashop crew and Tyxna.

A perfectionist at heart, Ankh is committed to producing high-quality work with impeccable attention to detail, whether it's on his canvas or in the workplace. In 2013, Ankh moved to Montreal, where he currently resides and continues to create stunning works of art that captivate audiences from all around the world.
